About Pete

Hi, I’m Pete Strickler.  I am a Colorado native, and I’ve been playing Irish music on the tenor banjo since 2000.

Over that period of time, I have bought and sold nearly 50 tenor banjos.  So I’ve got a bit of a reputation as somewhat of a banjo pusher!  But I’m really just more of an enthusiast.  I teach lessons out of my home or yours, or Skype if that’s what you prefer.  And I have a selection of banjos for sale, including several that I keep around just for students who are just starting out.  I also do banjo setups specifically for Irish tuning (GDAE), and can help you get your instrument sounding the way you want!

My first album, Giotár, with Charlie Branch is available now. This album is Irish Traditional music played on tenor guitar, guitar, mandolin, mandola, bouzouki, tenor banjo, uilleann pipes, fiddle, and even hard shoe dancing! Guest artists include Marla Fibish, Dirk Mewes, Kevin Rumery, Zina Lee, and Brian Lanni.

If you’d like to purchase a signed copy of the CD, use the contact form at the bottom of this page. Or you can purchase either a physical CD or digital copy through CD Baby using the link in the player below. (The album is also available on your favorites services like Spotify, Pandora, Rhapsody, iTunes, Amazon, and Google Music).
